Rayan Zachariassen, Chief Technology Officer
Rayan is the classical technology visionary and a pioneer of the Canadian Internet industry.
Founder of Uunet Canada, Rayan’s venture became Canada’s first commercial Internet Service Provider (ISP); he also co-founded a number of cooperative efforts such as: CA*net 2, with University of Toronto and Bell Advanced Communications (which gave Bell Canada its start in the Internet business). In 1998, his company was purchased by Uunet Technologies, the world’s largest ISP.

He also co-founded Border Network Technologies with Steven Lamb and Glenn Mackintosh. This fully-funded technology venture developed and marketed one of the earliest Internet application firewalls, which rose quickly to become #2 globally and was acquired by Secure Computing Corporation. In 2009, he reconnected with Steve Lamb and co-founded NEVEX Virtual Technologies.

Rayan holds a Bachelor of Applied Science in Engineering Science and a Master of Science in Computer Science from the University of Toronto.
